This workshop brings together various national and European initiatives that develop and provide infrastructures or services for FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) data management in the health sector. The aim is to inform about their activities and to discuss possible interactions, joint strategies and synergies. An exchange of experiences is expected to discuss and plan joint activities, such as the coordination of service developments or implementation strategies, as well as common standards and guidelines. In interactive sessions the speakers and participants will discuss requirements for scientific data management infrastructures in the health sector, also in the context of and as cornerstones for European and national initiatives, such as the emerging German National Research Data Infrastructure for Personal Health Data (NFDI4Health). For this purpose, concepts of existing and planned health data services will be presented and discussed with the participants to gather and further refine the requirements for such data infrastructures.
This half-day (4-5 hours) workshop is planned as a combined event of the EFMI STC 2021 “Applying the FAIR principles to accelerate health research in Europe in the post-Covid19 era” and the 66th annual conference of the German Association for Medical Informatics, Biometry and Epidemiology (GMDS). It is organized jointly by the GMDS project group “FAIR Data Infrastructures for Biomedical Informatics” and the German National Research Data Infrastructure for Personal Health Data (NFDI4Health). The exact date will be announced in the next days.
